JAMES YORKSTON Wednesday 26th October |
Yorkston is very much at home on stage, his live shows evolving into celebratory, somewhat rambunctious affairs. 'In Yorkston's case at least, the legendary Fence Collective line in charming self-deprecation masks something rather more steely.' THE GUARDIAN **** 'Yorkston is a deft raconteur... Sweet, but fiercely intelligent.' EVENING STANDARD 5/5 |

ELLEN & THE ESCAPADES![]() Wednesday 9th November |
Winners of the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition 2010 As Lauren Laverne tells us, Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis says they’re ‘better than Joni Mitchell’ – and he’s a man who knows. Their Americana/folk influenced bliss, with Ellen's sultry, husky tones sung over the Escapades sizzling 60's influenced sounds. A perfect combination indeed. 'Enormously catchy songs...they would fit nicely into the music collections of the 400,000 Brits who’ve bought Mumford & Sons album.' Chris Salmon (THE GUARDIAN) **** |
